About Us

Annie Grandmaison is a Balanced Body™ Pilates Educator, studio owner, and movement mentor dedicated to empowering the next generation of Pilates instructors.

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Annie began her career in special events production before joining Cirque du Soleil™ in 2005 as a Stage Manager. Touring internationally and working alongside elite acrobats, dancers, and performers, she developed a deep appreciation for movement precision, performance longevity, and injury prevention.

Her passion for movement science was born from both observing injuries in high-level performers and navigating her own rehabilitation journey. This experience led her to become a Certified Pilates Instructor in 2015 under Master Trainer Gracie Martinez, where she discovered Pilates as both a powerful rehabilitation tool and a lifelong practice.

In addition to Pilates, Annie is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Reiki Master, and specializes in the Spurgeon Method for breast cancer rehabilitation. She has worked with professional athletes in the NFL, NHL, and MLB, as well as clients seeking recovery, strength, and sustainable wellness.

As the owner of Commonwealth Pilates in Las Vegas and an Authorized Training Center for Balanced Body™, Annie blends classical Pilates principles with modern movement science. She offers public classes and comprehensive teacher training programs rooted in precision, safety, and embodied teaching.

Known for her client-centered cueing, layered anatomical understanding, and emphasis on alignment and integration, Annie helps instructors refine their personal practice while developing clarity, confidence, and teaching skill.

Today, Annie’s mission is to elevate Pilates education by mentoring aspiring instructors to teach with compassion, technical excellence, and integrity—preparing them not only to pass certification exams, but to build sustainable, impactful careers in the movement industry.
